My Bio
I'm a jeweler currently living in Cape Town. My jewellery is inspired by my country's nature and by sword and spell fantasy (focusing on some specific races within that branch of fantasy).
Things have been frantic with nine days to go until my wedding, so any photos I have stashed to upload will only happen in early April. Just to warn you though, my head has been splitting with drowy things, and I feel that the time to expand the Drow range has been long overdue. I will also be doing a bit of maintenance and make a gallery folder specifically for the drow pieces. What I am hoping for is to add is a couple more pendants and rings, and a few pairs of earrings. After that, I see about designing a solid bangle type design as another option over the bracelet. So far the range only consists of: The Drow Spider Pendant - http://tz

Just to wish everyone a happy Christmas and great New Year. Hope you all just have a wonderful day filled with good moments, lots of happy people and tons of prezzies! I'm going to have a quiet Christmas with just a few people, but I'm sure its going to be festive anyway. :)

A.A. Milne Ernest was an elephant, a great big fellow, Leonard was a lion with a six foot tail, George was a goat, and his beard was yellow, And James was a very small snail. Leonard had a stall, and a great big strong one, Earnest had a manger, and its walls were thick, George found a pen, but I think it was the wrong one, And James sat down on a brick Earnest started trumpeting, and cracked his manger, Leonard started roaring, and shivered his stall, James gave a huffle of a snail in danger And nobody heard him at all. Earnest started trumpeting and raised such a rumpus, Leonard started roaring and trying to kick, James went

I read on your web page you are going environmentally friendly? What pickle do you use?
Alum?
Yup, I use Alum powder/crystals. I haven't really had to change too much in my workshop though, as it's one small workshop and a lot of my cleaning products were already biodegradable/non-chemical.

I've been eyeing out the water torches that get discussed on Ganoksin, but they seem to use some hefty chemicals that need some looking up on my part.
never heard of water torches?? What is the chemical??
[link] or [link] are examples of the torches.

They run on water and something else...I can't seem to find the chemical anymore, although they mention Methyl-alcohol which doesn't seem to sound bad (?). They also require a low amount of electricity to run, but only whilst the torch is in use. Basically though, when you turn the thing off, there are no gases under pressure.

A bonus is you can pop some Boric Acid into the water canister, and you are then provided with a "fluxed" flame. :) So you don't need to prod your work trying to get flux onto it - if you have one clumsy hand like me, having a flame that fluxes your piece whilst soldering would be a happy dream. ^^
